Our decluttering journey has been going on for some time now, and I think its important for you to take a look around and see all that you have accomplished so far. With a few systems and some time investment, you should start to notice your home looking more and more decluttered as we have moved along, or at least I hope you are starting to see the results from all of your efforts.

We have rolled into January and full disclosure, I do not believe in New Year resolutions, not even a bit. However, what I fully believe in is taking an opportunity, whether its the start of a new week, month, season or year to take stock of your world and see what may need some decluttering and organizing. So without further adieu, this will be our focus today - taking stock.

To begin today (or whenever you choose to dive into this adventure), it will be important to have something that you can make a list on or notes - you can ‘old school’ this with a good old fashioned paper and pen but also your notes function on the phone or computer can work well too. We can call this our “To get to” list, and sometimes the best way to do this is to walk around your living space and see what projects, organizing and decluttering you personally still have to get to. These projects can be more general such as “I still have not gotten to the kitchen stuff,” or they may be more specific or personal to you such as, I need to rearrange and get rid of some artwork, or I have to get through some boxes in the basement that I have been putting off. You would be surprised how writing stuff down can jump start these tasks and get you on your way.

Once you have completed this list…that was a trick because this list is intended to be added to, lets call it a WIP (work in progress) with no completion requirement. Once you have begun this list, use it as a guideline for things you want to get done. When you have time and energy check these jobs off your list and tackle them one by one, and also make sure you keep adding to it when you think of things to do. Personally, even when I accomplish one small task I feel great and can breathe easier. Good luck with your list!
