As the summer starts to wind down, our minds may be full and cluttered messes; full thoughts and ideas of moving to the next season, or perhaps still cluttered with summer activities. It is altogether possible that your mind is empty, which can create problems as well! Regardless of what your own personal cluttered mind is engaged with, now is the time to declutter from all of these things.

The hope for everybody is that summer was a refreshing and exhilarating time where you were able to unwind with loved ones and enjoy the warm weather months. This may have been your experience, but often it is not our only experience. Warm weather can cause more stress in the body and often people have shorter fuses then we would like. In addition, health routines seem to disappear around the summer as we enjoy more social times, alcohol, and perhaps questionable food choices. So, as we start to approach the more routine based living schedule that September offers, perhaps we can allow ourself to think of this as a decluttering of sorts: we declutter the summer chaos and move to a more sustainable model, where we indulge less, we cool off and we unwind. The end of summer does not have to be all bad and hopefully, the following words may help you look ahead in a positive way:

LET IT GO - Your summer may have been THE BEST ONE EVER or not one for the books…and guess what? It does not matter at all…now is the time to Let it go - literally and figuratively. Its over, it is now in the past, let it remain there. Do not allow thoughts of the summer, whether they be good or bad, to clutter or minds because doing so is a waste of space. We cannot live life in the rear view mirror, nor should we. Its time to move on and prepare our minds for everything that is going to come our way. If our minds are clear, everything will be easier for the upcoming fall - this I promise you!

Take some time to reminisce about July and August in a positive way, and then start to move the mind forward into what will come. We all need focuses and things to think about that bring us joy so start to invite these other thoughts in and relish in them. Try to start September off with a clean slate of mind, body and spirit. Remember, every beginning comes from the end of something else…and on that note, march into September with a clear uncluttered mind!
