Welcome to the loo! Although we don’t often discuss the bathroom, it is a very important room in our homes - it’s where we shower, bathe, get ready, and…well, you know. So it goes without saying, these small spaces in our homes can get messy, disorganized and yes, cluttered.

I always encourage people with limited space in their bathrooms to only keep the things in this space that they need to - the essentials. Don’t use up valuable space by storing 22 rolls of toilet paper or 6 bottles of shampoo in this space. If you like to stock up, store these overflow things in other areas of your home and leave the valuable bathroom real estate to stuff that you actually need in there.

Try to keep your counter clutter to a minimum in the bathroom - there is nothing worse then having piles of crap on your bathroom counters that will be in your way both physically and mentally.

If you find that you are short organizers, there are so many systems available for bathrooms, including baskets, bins, drawer inserts, etc. Small bathroom friendly shelving units can also be purchased to make life simplified and easier.

Its important to regularly go through toiletries and make sure you throw out empty bottles and consolidate duplicates. Medication is a big one to go through as well - make sure you throw out anything expired and replenish dwindling items that you want to always have on hand such as advil, bandaids, cough syrup, etc.

Speaking of going through medicines and the like, I can go one step further: Go through all of your bathroom stuff - throw out old junk and give everything a good wipe down. Throw out old destroyed tooth brushes and anything else that has run its course. Clean brushes, including hair brushes and make up brushes. Sort and organize all of your bathroom essentials and put things away in an orderly manner.

It never hurts to do a bathroom deep clean while you are at it; very satisfying I promise - Have fun in the loo!! :)
